Mowi Scotland increased first-quarter harvest volumes to 20,570 gutted weight tonnes from 17,656 tonnes a year earlier, outperforming a wider Scottish industry backdrop in which national harvest volumes declined by 3.2%.
Operational EBIT in Scotland was broadly stable at €30.6 million, compared with €31.5 million in the first quarter of 2025, although operational EBIT per kilo fell to €1.49 from €1.78.
Mowi attributed the lower EBIT/kg partly to site mix effects and higher costs at sites in the Western Isles and eastern Skye. Feed costs were broadly stable year on year, while incident-based mortality costs declined to €0.3 million from €1.4 million.
The company said biological conditions in Scotland were generally good during the quarter, with improved survival rates and superior share. Biomass increased 2% year on year, driven by a 3% rise in the number of fish in sea.
At group level, Mowi reported operational EBIT of €220.8 million on revenues of €1.54 billion, supported by record first-quarter harvest volumes of 136,477 tonnes.
