Mowi will relocate its Bergen office to the Marineholmen district, one of Norway’s largest centres for aquaculture research, fish health and seafood industry development.

The salmon farmer has signed a lease for 2,800 square metres in the Merkantilen building and is expected to move into the premises in summer 2027, according to Estate Nyheter.

Marineholmen is home to more than 150 companies and organisations employing around 3,500 people. The district hosts a concentration of aquaculture businesses, fish health specialists, regulators and researchers, including Pharmaq, MSD Animal Health, DNV, the Norwegian Veterinary Institute, the Norwegian Food Safety Authority and the University of Bergen.

The move will place Mowi alongside many of the companies and institutions that play a central role in fish health, aquaculture technology, regulation and research in Norway.

GC Rieber Eiendom, which owns the building, said the relocation strengthens Marineholmen’s position as a hub for strategic decision-making and innovation in the seafood sector.
