Napier’s new processing vessel Tautiki has arrived in Langevåg on the island of Bømlo after a 13-day delivery voyage from Sefine Shipyard in Turkey, managing director Kjetil Tufteland said.

The voyage was completed without technical issues, although the vessel encountered difficult weather along the Portuguese coast and in the Bay of Biscay.

Tautiki was designed by Salt Ship Design in Stord and is a sister vessel to Tauroa, which has been in operation for about a year.

According to Napier, the vessels are designed to stun and bleed salmon alongside cages at sea. They have bleeding and chilling capacity of 200 tonnes per hour and can carry up to 750 tonnes of fish in eight tanks.

The vessel will now undergo preparations at Bømlo Skipsservice before heading north to begin a long-term contract with Mowi at Jøsnøya in central Norway, Tufteland said.
