Danish aquaculture technology supplier North Aquaculture has opened an office in Brønnøysund, central Norway, and appointed industry veteran Haakon Lund to support its growing customer base in the world’s largest salmon-producing nation.

The company said the move is intended to strengthen its local presence as investment in land-based aquaculture and post-smolt production continues to increase across Norway.

Lund joins North Aquaculture with nearly a decade of experience in the aquaculture industry, including roles in business development, sales, project management and technical deliveries to salmon farmers and suppliers.

Based in Brønnøysund, a coastal town in northern Norway with close links to the aquaculture sector, he will work with both existing and prospective customers.

“We are seeing increasing activity in upgrades, expansions and new land-based projects in Norway,” said Peter Schytt, chief operating officer and co-owner of North Aquaculture. “With Haakon, we gain a local resource who understands customers’ needs and can translate our experience into practical solutions close to the market.”

North Aquaculture supplies technology and equipment to fish farming companies, including systems designed to improve production efficiency and fish welfare. The company has recently highlighted plans to expand capacity to meet demand from future projects.
