Line Ellingsen has been re-elected as chair of Sjømat Norge following the organisation’s annual general meeting in Trondheim.

Ellingsen is chief executive of Ellingsen Seafood in Skrova in the Lofoten archipelago and also serves as vice president of NHO, the Confederation of Norwegian Enterprise.

“It is a recognition of the work the board has done during the current period, and I look forward to starting a new term together with the rest of the board,” Ellingsen said in a statement.

She added that stability is particularly important for the sector.

“The seafood industry is Norway’s second-largest export industry, and in a world with such geopolitical uncertainty it is more important than ever to have predictability at home,” she said.

At the same meeting, Frank Kristiansen of Båtsfjord sentralfryselager was elected as a new board member.

Other board members re-elected were Arne Karlsen of Gunnar Klo, Øyvind Oaland of Mowi, Helge Singelstad of Lerøy Norway Seafoods, Gustav Witzøe of SalMar, Ida Holmøy of Eidsfjord Sjøfarm, Marianne Bendiksen of Northern Lights Salmon, Ulrik Ulriksen of Steen-Hansen and Kristin Hurum of Cermaq Norway.

Karlsen will continue as first deputy chair, while Oaland remains second deputy chair.

Newly elected deputy board members are Victor Jan Jensen of Abyss and Hanne Lundberg of Gratanglaks, while Alexander Grøntvedt of Grøntvedt Pelagic was re-elected.
