Norwegian aquaculture network Salmon Group has entered a commercial partnership with WellFish Tech to introduce systematic fish health monitoring across its member companies.

The agreement will see WellFish Tech provide biomarker analysis based on blood biochemistry, allowing fish health to be monitored across farms, companies and fjord systems within the Salmon Group network.

Salmon Group represents salmon and trout farmers with combined annual production of more than 220,000 metric tons.

The companies said the collaboration will also establish a network-wide dashboard, enabling participating producers to compare fish health data across operations.

For WellFish Tech, the agreement is the largest commercial contract in the company's history.

Chief executive Charlie Granfelt said the partnership marked a significant step in scaling evidence-based fish health management across the aquaculture industry.

Financial terms of the agreement were not disclosed.
