Atlantic salmon supply to the EU has remained at seasonal record levels for three to four consecutive weeks, putting downward pressure on spot prices, according to Kontali's latest market update.
The analyst said EU salmon imports rose 10% in week 27 from the previous week as strong biological performance in Europe continued to support supply. Kontali also revised its estimate for first-half 2026 EU end-consumer demand higher, suggesting stronger underlying consumption than previously expected despite the recent surge in volumes.
The firm left its short-term price outlook broadly unchanged, with only a slight downward revision for July and a modest upward adjustment for August.
