Captain Fresh has applied for regulatory approval to acquire Polish seafood company Morex through its Oslo-based holding company, Infifresh Foodtech.

The application was submitted to Poland’s Office of Competition and Consumer Protection on July 2 and remains under review, according to a filing published on July 7.

Infifresh Foodtech, which oversees Captain Fresh’s activities in Europe and the United States, is seeking control of Gdynia-based Morex.

Captain Fresh operates a technology-backed seafood sourcing, processing and distribution platform handling fresh, frozen and processed products across multiple species and markets.

Morex sells a broad range of seafood, including salmon, herring, hake, pollock, halibut, mackerel, trout and pike-perch.

The company supplies both traded products sold without further processing and finished products that are filleted, frozen, portioned or packed by third-party processors. It does not sell directly to consumers.

Financial terms were not disclosed.
