Josephine Theal has left her role as Target’s director of meat and seafood to join food delivery company ButcherBox as vice president of retail strategy.
Theal spent four years at the US retailer, overseeing category strategy, private-label development and supplier partnerships, she said in a LinkedIn post.
During her tenure, Target launched exclusive partnerships with ButcherBox and seafood brand Coast to Coast, alongside new products under its Good & Gather private label.
Target and ButcherBox earlier this year introduced a range of fresh grass-fed beef across more than 1,400 stores, marking ButcherBox’s first retail partnership.
Before joining Target in 2022, Theal held category management and procurement positions at Delaware North, Daymon, Wegmans and Giant Eagle.
